SOUTHORT, NC (WWAY) — The Southport-NC Historical Society is looking for volunteers and you can stay at home to help.
According to the group’s Facebook page opportunities include:
• Get the word out! – help us promote our classes and events in newspapers, newsletters and in social media
• Write for us! – we’re always looking for articles for our blog and newsletter
• Capture history! – we need interviewers to help us conduct online oral interviews of community members
• Update the archives! – add digital pictures and documents to the Susie Carson Research Room
• Share history! – Present topics in local history based on your personal experiences or research
• Portray historical characters! – participate in videos, conduct tours and take part in special events
• Create exhibits! – Use your creativity to help us present online and in-person exhibits in eye-catching ways
• Special projects – help with fund raising events and activities
